The Arenal volcano is located in the northwest region of Costa Rica. Its great diversity is a product of the exchange between the biota of the Caribbean and Pacific mainlands, allowing the development of flora and fauna distributed in four life zones. Besides unique characteristics in its geography, topography and climate, you can also enjoy the volcano’s majestic, almost perfect conical shape. This is why the Arenal volcano is known as a Stratovolcano: it is tall, symmetrical and was built upon successive layers of rock, ash and lava. In the Arenal Volcano area we will hike for about an hour at Danaus Eco Center, a private reserve where we can observe animals such as sloths, butterflies, birds, caimans, exotic frogs like the red eyed tree frog ,the blue jeans dart frog, and many more. Then we will move to a beautiful area to enjoy hot springs at the foot of the magnificent Arenal Volcano. This is a full day Tour, starts at approximately 8am and returns at approximately 7pm. Travel time between Liberia and Arenal Volcano is around 3 hours. Includes: transportation with air conditioning, lunch, forest walking, hot springs and bilingual guide.
